Provided clinical image
This whole-body scan shows posterior and anterior views at two window settings. Based on the imaging appearance and normal biodistribution seen in the liver, spleen, and bone marrow, which radiopharmaceutical was most likely used and what is its standard imaging schedule?
C. Ga-67 citrate; whole-body images are typically acquired at 24, 48, and 72 hours after injection to allow blood-pool clearance and adequate lesion uptake
Ga-67 citrate is used for this whole-body gallium scan. Because Ga-67 has a physical half-life of 78 hours and clears slowly from the blood pool, imaging is routinely performed at 24, 48, and 72 hours post-injection. Early images (24h) provide a baseline, while delayed images (48–72h) give better target-to-background ratio as normal blood-pool activity decreases.
